United is on the Chase to Hunt Down Super City

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United could be a massive 11 points behind leaders Manchester City when they kick-off against Newcastle this Premier League weekend.

That’s the size of gap that can see online betting fans deserting a team in droves and betting websites slashing odds. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, with 27 league matches still to play; there are plenty of twists and turns to come.

WEEK 12 SATURDAY:

Bournemouth vs Huddersfield Town

Two wins in three have arrested the Terriers’ slide and they sit relatively comfortably in tenth for now while Eddie Howe’s Cherries sit a point above the drop zone having won two of their last three games. Bournemouth have a more expansive style of play than Huddersfield, but with only seven goals, has scored one fewer.

Leicester City vs Manchester City

Scoring is not something Manchester City need to worry about with a +31 goal difference. Sergio Aguero may be missing though, having undergone medical checks after feeling unwell. However, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane are in fine shape. Claude Puel’s Foxes are up to 12th and are unbeaten in three at home though.

West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea

Unbelievably, Tony Pulis is the latest manager to come under pressure, having failed to win in his last five home fixtures as the Baggies have dropped to 16th. Antonio Conte fell back in love with the game when his Chelsea beat Manchester United before the break and Eden Hazard and co will smell blood.

Liverpool vs Southampton

Three consecutive wins, scoring ten, and conceding one have given Jurgen Klopp plenty to smile about in recent weeks, but what he really craves is consistency. Mo Salah, on seven goals, looks like a great signing but the Saints, in 13th, are struggling to find the net with just nine in 11 games.

Burnley vs Swansea City

Burnley’s Irish contingent will feel bruised following a Danish mauling and Sean Dyche may be tempted to rest Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick or Stephen Ward. On level with Liverpool and Arsenal, the Clarets will expect to push on against 19th placed Swansea who are on a run of four consecutive defeats.

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Roy Hodgson has already had seven more games than Frank De Boer as Palace coach, earning four points for the 20th placed Eagles. Everton’s temporary manager, David Unsworth still doesn’t know much about his immediate future but his cause was helped by a superb fight back in the Toffees’ last game against Watford.

WEEK 12 SUNDAY:

Manchester United vs Newcastle United

The other title chasers will have finished their football games when the two United’s meet in the late kick-off, in a clash which may be short on goals. Rafa Benitez has Newcastle well organised but after scoring for Belgium in midweek, Romelu Lukaku will hope to rediscover his form for the Red Devils.

WEEK 12 MONDAY:

Watford FC vs West Ham United

Can David Moyes do what he hasn’t since his time at Everton and lift the spirits in his new club? Only time can tell. However, the vultures will surely begin to circle pretty quickly if he struggles. A trip up the road to Watford may help as the Hornets have lost the last three.

WEEK 12 TUESDAY:

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Stoke City

The weekend closes on the South Coast where Chris Hughton’s merry band of Seagulls entertain the Potters, who sit three points behind their hosts. Stoke have come out on top in all seven previous meetings between the two. Time for a change?
