Serie A: Roma Seek Another Win at Home

AS Roma vs Napoli

AS Roma are set to play at home once again and they will get to host Napoli in the 11th matchday of the Serie A 2019/20 season.

As it stands now at the table, Inter Milan are on top with 25 points while Juventus and Atalanta are right behind them with 23 and 20 respectively. On the other hand, Napoli and Roma have only one point separating between them with 17 and 16.

A win by either of these squads will solidify their place for at least at the fourth spot, which is why I’m expecting a tight match between these two clubs.

As always, SBOBET is here to provide you with some talking points ahead of this game on Saturday.

Talking Points

Injury woes for Napoli

The Partenopei are looking to gain some ground as they make a push for at least the top-three. However, it won’t be easy for them in the upcoming weeks due to injuries sustained by some of their key players.

Napoli will do everything to retain their post in Serie when they face Roma on Saturday
Dries Mertens & Lorenzo Insigne are expected to perform against Roma in Serie A

Their defence is expected to take a hit as guys like Kevin Malcuit, Elseid Hysaj, and Faouzi Ghoulam are to be sidelined for a couple of games. Mario Rui and Nikola Maksimovic, on the other hand, are back to fortify their backline along with standout Kalidou Koulibaly, while Kostas Manolas will be rested due to load management.

The club suffered a setback when they drew level in their match against relegation candidate SPAL with a 1-1 tally. But despite the disappointing outcome and their injury problems, team boss Carlo Ancelotti believes that there are still plenty of positives that they can build on.

They still sit atop of Group E in the Champions League ahead of defending titlists Liverpool, and they are still yet to be defeated.

“The team is in good shape and needs to keep going. We have a [couple of] big games ahead and we need to look forward, work hard and show belief,” said Ancelotti.

“We are disappointed (with the draw against SPAL), but we are certainly not giving up. We need to react straight away and [the upcoming games] are important matches that can move us back up the table,” added Koulibaly.

The attacking duo of Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne remains to be the focal point of their attack as they’ve combined for seven of the team’s 18 goals so far this season, and they may need to score more in order to keep up with the league’s best teams.

Players stepping up for AS Roma

Even with their injury-bitten roster, AS Roma have managed to stay undefeated in their last five fixtures.

Sure they’ve had some underwhelming performances against Cagliari, Sampdoria, and Monchengladbach, but they’ve made it up for it big time in their recent win against AC Milan last Monday.

In that game, team manager Paulo Fonseca was forced to bring in some seldom-seen faces in Javier Pastore, Diego Perotti, and Federico Fazio. And boy, they have been thorns to a struggling AC Milan side.

The veteran trio was aggressive at the middle, forcing AC Milan to scramble and concede for shots on target. Their quality and activity helped the likes of Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Zaniolo chip in some goals for the much-needed victory – while producing some of the best Serie A 2019 highlights as well.

Dzeko continues to be the main man at the front for I Giallorossi. The Bosnian sensation is currently sixth in goals scored with five along with one assist.

Meanwhile, his attacking partner Nicolo Zaniolo should be a vital cog for the future for Paulo Fonseca. The 20-year-old has shown the capability to make a huge impact even with limited playing time, and for sure he’ll play even better as time goes by.

History

These two teams have faced each other in 30 matches where Roma have won in 14, while Napoli won in nine along with seven draws.

Their last game in March ended in a 4-1 score where Napoli dominated Roma on the road. I Giallorossi’s last victory against I Partenopei was back in March 2018 with a 4-2 score.

Betting Tip

??
AS Roma vs Napoli AS Roma Asian Handicap +0.00 @1.79
November 02, 22:00 (GMT+8)

Our Serie A 2019 odds have the home team at 2.29, Napoli at 2.71 and a draw 3.40 in the 1×2 market, which indicates a close fight ahead.

Goals aren’t hard to come by whenever these two match up, and I expect more of the same come Saturday at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, I’ll give the slight edge to AS Roma since Napoli look to have no answers to the lethal combo of Edin Dzeko and Nicolo Zaniolo.
