Arsenal vs Fulham
The battle for the Premier League title, which is raging between Arsenal and Manchester City, is reaching a thrilling climax, with the Premier League 2026 betting odds hardly able to split the two protagonists.
Throughout May, the drama will be high-octane, and the two teams involved will need nerves of steel. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are three points ahead, having played a game more, and before the Sky Blues play again, they will host Marco Silva’s Fulham at the Emirates on Saturday.
Both teams picked up 1-0 wins last week, Arsenal edged out Newcastle United thanks to an early Eberechi Eze strike, while Fulham beat Aston Villa by the same scoreline with a goal from club stalwart Ryan Sessegnon.
Nerves will be jangling in North London on Saturday afternoon.
Talking Points
Arsenal are ready to tough it out
In my analysis of the title run-in, I said that I believe that Manchester City’s experience of tight finishes would likely be the difference. But Arteta’s team has shown, time and time again, that it can battle hard to get results. And they did just that on Wednesday night as they scrapped out a 1-1 draw in their Champions League first leg semi-final away to Atletico Madrid. Viktor Gyokeres won and converted a penalty when he was fouled by David Hancko, but Atleti soon levelled when Ben White handled a Marcos Llorente shot and Julian Alvarez slammed his penalty home.

The fact that Gyokeres was on target again is good news for the Gunners, who, I’m sure, will rely on winning by fine margins in the coming weeks, and the Swedish striker has found form at the right time. And Arteta’s men showed a huge amount of resolve to take a draw away from the Wanda Metropolitano, facing 18 shots and four on target (to 11 and two).
The Gunners are ready to fight to the last; whether that will be enough remains to be seen.
Europe is well within Fulham’s reach
Currently 10th in the Premier League table, Fulham are level on points with Chelsea in eighth, and within two points of Brighton in sixth. The Cottagers have picked up eight points from their last five league games, with two wins, two draws, and a loss away to Liverpool. Silva’s men have flirted with the top eight for much of the campaign, but consistency has been a problem.
I’d say eight points from their final four games, against Arsenal, Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Newcastle United, would probably be enough, and a point at the Emirates on Saturday would certainly put them on target.
Chelsea’s sacking of manager Liam Rosenior made the Premier League 2026 news last week, and it certainly started the rumour mill spinning, with some comments surfacing that the Blues have Silva on their potential list. His stock will skyrocket if Fulham finish above Chelsea in the league, and on current form, they will (the Blues have lost their last five Premier League games).
The victory over high-flying Villa certainly showed the Cottagers are capable, and the winning goal was a testament to Silva’s fluid playing style as one wing-back, Timothy Castagne, crossed for the other wing-back, Sessegnon, to fire home, after a Sasa Lukic header had been parried. Sessegnon was replaced by another attack-minded full-back, Antonee Robinson, and the depth in talent in Fulham’s squad, in key areas, could be enough to see them over the line.
History
Arsenal have bossed the head-to-head encounters with Fulham, winning 25 to four, and there have been eight draws in all competitions over the last 37 meetings. At the Emirates, the Cottagers haven’t won once over that period as Arsenal have won 12 and drawn six, and the Gunners won 1-0 when the two teams met at Craven Cottage in October.
Recent form has been patchy for both clubs. Arsenal have won two, drawn two, and lost two of the last six games, as have Fulham. But those two losses were against Liverpool and then Southampton in the FA Cup, so the Cottagers’ league form is strong.
Betting Tip
Arsenal are the hot favourites at SBOTOP odds of 1.45 to win this match, with the draw at 4.50, and a Fulham win is 7.50. The double chance: Fulham or Draw is priced at 2.75, and I do think the Gunners will have to work hard for a win on Saturday.
Nine of the last 12 games involving these teams have yielded two goals or fewer, and I’m expecting another edgy 90-plus minutes at the Emirates.
