Bundesliga: Bayern Have a Part of their Future Secured

If you are a Bayern Munich fan, then it’s probably the strangest thing that your club ended trophyless last season. I mean, seriously, Bayern? Zero trophies? You’d have to do some convincing if you tell that to a friend of yours, who has lived under a rock even for just a couple months.

As the Bavarian club finished behind unbeaten champions Leverkusen and surprise package Stuttgart—both of whom have massively upset the Bundesliga 2024 odds—they now look ahead to a future where they can dominate once more.

The 33-time Bundesliga winners have signed their targets so far: Joao Palhinha, Michael Olise and Hiroki Ito have put pen to paper and are ready to help Bayern regain their magic.

However, key senior members like Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich have yet to agree terms with the club.

On the flip side, several young up-and-comers have already committed. I’m pretty sure SBOTOP Bundesliga fans know a couple of these players.

Aleksandar Pavlovic

Die Roten aren’t strangers to midfield talent. If you look at the long list of all those who conducted things in their middle third, you’d have enough control to balance a football with your pinky toe, and the precision of a surgeon when pinging a ball to anyone you like.

Despite Thomas Tuchel’s exit—and his constant problem throughout last season of finding a suitable number six—the chance he gave a 19-year-old Pavlovic proved to be an outstanding decision.

In his 19 Bundesliga appearances last season, the towering midfielder finished the year with two goals and two assists. His most notable game came from beating eventual runners-up Stuttgart (3-0) last December.

Pavlovic was everywhere during that match, registering an assist and being an indirect contributor to two goals. He also had 70 touches and completed 86 per cent of his passes.

And when you have a gem like Pavlovic in your rotation, you do right by him by offering to secure his future. As of writing, the German international now has a contract that guarantees his stay at the Allianz Arena until June 2029.

Josip Stanisic

Originally a Bayern player but was loaned to Leverkusen last season, the all-around defender proved his worth when he became a vital cog to Leverkusen’s Bundesliga 2024 results.

The 24-year-old Stanisic is everything you could ask for in a defender: he is versatile, strong and athletic, and could score timely goals in the nick of time—just ask Dortmund and Roma.

Now that his loan spell with Die Werkself has ended, it is time he comes home.

For some, leaving as a loaned player after you just won a domestic double and basically obliterated every competition in the country wouldn’t be the happiest of feelings. Especially so when you contributed much to the honours your club had received.

But Stanisic isn’t going back to any club; this is Bayern Munich we are talking about. And if you are to leave a championship side, you could do no worse than joining one of Europe’s most elite.

Just like Pavlovic, Stanisic signed an extension that keeps him with the Bavarians until June 2029.

He has plenty of room to grow, and what better way to learn than to win with Bayern?

Just like Pavlovic, Stanisic is also homegrown in Munich. Talk about spotting talent at a young age!

Arijon Ibrahimovic

I know what you’re thinking, and no, he has no relation whatsoever to the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

His name may not be familiar to casual supporters, but make no mistake, this 18-year-old is one for the future.

Last season, Ibrahimovic was loaned to Italian side Frosinone, where he appeared 18 times in all competitions, and managed to register two goals and an assist.

You may not completely know what he brings to the table or just how high his ceiling can reach. But Bayern does, and that’s all that matters. That’s why Die Roten were glad to offer the young Ibrahimovic a contract until 2027.

A box-to-box midfielder with a high work rate, Ibrahimovic is as technical as he is a hard worker on the other end.

His skills will no doubt be polished as he plays with the likes of Thomas Muller, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman.

At the same time, he can grow alongside fellow youngsters Jamal Musiala, Mathys Tel and Aleksandar Pavlovic.

It also bodes well that Vincent Kompany has him in his plans for the future.
