The 2020 Bundesliga champions FC Bayern have already made their marquee signing of the summer after announcing that winger Leroy Sane has joined on a five-year deal.
The Germany international has left Manchester City after four seasons at the Etihad, though during the last 12 months he has been out of action with a serious knee injury.
He’s already started training with Die Bayern and chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is delighted by the signing.
“We’re very happy to welcome Leroy to FC Bayern. He is an outstanding player who has proven his qualities over the past few years, especially in the national team. Our goal is to gather the best German players at FC Bayern and the signing of Leroy emphasises this, he said.
The capture of Sane is the big Bundesliga 2020 news since Bayern romped to their eighth successive Bundesliga title, rounding off their season with a 4-0 defeat of Wolfsburg and it sends a warning out to the champions’ rivals that they are determined to win again next season.
But Rummenigge has hinted that Sane could be the last big outlay at Bayern this summer, saying his club is under financial restrictions like many others and he believes the market will not break any records during this transfer window.
The champions have already secured the signing of goalkeeper Alexander Nubel on a free transfer from FC Schalke, and the 23 -year-old is tipped to be a potential long term replacement for Manuel Neuer.
And Bayern have also strengthened in defence, bringing in the highly rated Tanguy Kouassi from Paris-Saint Germain.
According to Rummenigge, there may not be many more incomings, which is good news for their rivals!
Exodus to West London
There are some big names on their way out of the Bundesliga as Premier League club Chelsea have been trawling the top clubs after the Blues’ recruited Christian Pulisic last year.
The American has impressed and the transfer of Timo Werner from Red Bull Leipzig to Stamford Bridge has made waves in the English league.
Now Frank Lampard is preparing to swoop for Bayer Leverkusen sensation Kai Havertz.
Havertz has it all as an all round forward, we’ve been watching him closely here in the SBOBET football team and clearly so has Lampard.
He is strong, fast, has two quick feet and is ruthless in front of goal. A potential front line of Pulisic, Werner and Havertz will have the Blues dreaming and it stands up to Liverpool’s prolific front three.
The Leverkusen skipper only has two years left on his contract and he is keen to move to England. And at 21 years of age, he fits with Lampard’s recruitment philosophy.
At the moment, the Blues are unwilling to meet the £90-M asking price so there is some way to go. The Premier League club is likely to offer a reduced fee with add-ons.
Hey, Jude is heading to Dortmund
Young Birmingham City striker Jude Bellingham is set to join Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £22-M on a five-year contract, and head coach Lucien Favre believes the 17-year-old could be the next Jadon Sancho.
Favre has beaten competition from Manchester United and Real Madrid to sign the midfielder and that’s a real coup, following on from Sancho’s rejection of the top English clubs to play in front of the famous Yellow Wall.
BVB have already secured the signing of wing-back Thomas Meunier after the Belgium international left Paris Saint-Germain to sign a four-year deal with Dortmund.
The 28-year-old spent four seasons in Paris, winning three Ligue 1 titles and two Coup de France medals, and now he’s ready for a new challenge.
“Borussia Dortmund play exactly the football that I want to play: exciting, authentic and natural,” said Meunier.
The Bundesliga 2020 betting odds are certain to pitch Bayern as favourites, but BVB finished second again after another solid season and Meunier could prove to be a very astute signing.
Elsewhere, Wolfsburg are treading familiar ground in recruiting two more US internationals.
Veteran defender John Brooks, forward Ulysses Llanez, and centre-back Michael Edwards have all done well with Die Wolfe, and now they are set to be joined by teenage stars Bryang Kayo and Kobe Hernandez-Foster.
The two new boys will be introduced to the club’s U19 and U23 set-ups with a view to following their predecessors into the senior squad.
Wolfsburg finished seventh in the 2019/20 season and have qualified for the Europa League again, so their recruitment policy seems to be working.
