The Eastern Conference has finally chosen their best eight teams, but the West is still a lawless area where teams ranked four through ten can still compete for playoff contention!
Betting odds for tomorrow’s games are sure to be tight as some of the teams vying for better playoff positions are playing. The Denver Nuggets-LA Clippers game is especially noteworthy as a loss here could doom the other LA team to irrelevance.
Which teams are worthy of your free bets?
Denver Nuggets @ LA Clippers (April 8, 4:30 GMT +8)
The first match of the day is probably the most intriguing one!
The Nuggets and the Clippers clash to secure their hopes of making the playoffs. The Clippers cannot afford to lose here and will need outstanding play from Tobias Harris, Austin Rivers and Lou Williams. DeAndre Jordan also needs to step up defensively and secure the paint.
However, the Clippers will have a rough time in trying to contain the Nuggets. Nikola Jokic is on a mission, switching gears and scoring 27 points over the last three games. Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap and Will Barton have also played impressively over the same stretch.
I don’t think the Clippers can keep up with the Nuggets, so you should bet big on Denver +1.00 @ 1.95.
Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks (April 8, 8:30 GMT +8)
The Bucks can now focus on making the most out of their time after making it to the playoffs, but a loss against Brooklyn is not the way to go.
They need to make sure that their upcoming road game against the Nets’ neighbour goes well. While the Knicks overwhelmed the Heat, I don’t see them easily stopping Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe altogether. They even have to worry about Jabari Parker’s outrageous scoring off the bench.
Brooklyn Nets @ Chicago Bulls (April 8, 9:00 GMT +8)
The Bulls seemed to be hopeless as they have many of their young core end their seasons early. However, Lauri Markkanen, Sean Kilpatrick and Bobby Portis are doing a fantastic job for the Bulls. They will be an interesting matchup for the equally young and disorganised Nets squad.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Houston Rockets (April 8, 9:30 GMT +8)
The Thunder are still struggling to find any shred of consistency even after their stars took a year of adjusting. Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony badly need a win here if they want to gain any confidence ahead of the postseason.
However, I don’t think James Harden and Chris Paul will allow the Thunder to do whatever they want. They will surely impose their will and dominate over this motley Thunder crew, so betting on Houston -6.50 @ 2.00 is not a bad deal.
New Orleans Pelicans @ Golden State Warriors (April 8, 9:30 GMT +8)
Anthony Davis is playing some fantastic basketball to end the regular season, posting a double-double over the past two games. They also have a better shot at victory as the Warriors’ locker room is unusually disorganised. However, Kevin Durant might prove Steve Kerr wrong and power his way through the Pelicans.
Portland Trail Blazers @ San Antonio Spurs (April 8, 10:00 GMT +8)
Portland’s fans heads might not go down to the ground despite consecutive losses to Dallas and Houston due to Damian Lillard’s incredible showings. He will surely bring Dame Time to a struggling San Antonio side that lost to both LA teams on their road trip. I’m not sure if Gregg Popovich can salvage their horrible end to the season.
