In case you didn’t know, the Toronto Raptors are now the No.1 team in the Eastern Conference.
Some might say that’s all thanks to the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Boston Celtics. However, don’t be fooled, Toronto have won five in a row and have established themselves as new online betting favourites.
The Raps host the Miami Heat tomorrow and betting odds back them to extend their streak and continue their home domination.
Miami Heat @ Toronto Raptors (February 14, 08:00 GMT+8)
Toronto’s five-game winning streak includes victories against the Celts and Blazers, so it’s hard to throw any shade at it. Sure, the Heat edged them earlier last month, but the Raps have been terrific on both ends of the floor in the past weeks.
Not to mention that their bench has been ridiculously good, even combining for 55 points yesterday against the Hornets.
With all these considered, I suggest betting on Toronto -8.00 @ 2.00.
Houston Rockets @ Minnesota Timberwolves (February 14, 09:00 GMT+8)
The Wolves are unbeaten at home for 13 games now, so they will be motivated to make it 14 this time against the surging Rockets. Minnesota are still the underdogs though, with Houston coming off an eight-game winning streak and playing brilliantly behind James Harden and Chris Paul.
Oh, Houston blew out the Wolves by 18 points last month as well.
This one should be tight, but choosing Houston -3.50 @ 2.08 seems the best move to make
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Oklahoma City Thunder (February 14, 09:00 GMT+8)
We have seen how the Cavs’ new guys can impact the team offensively, but now they’ll be tested on what they can do for Cleveland on the defensive end—undoubtedly their biggest problem.
The Thunder boast the attacking trio of Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, and will be a threat to a team against whom they dropped 148 points a few weeks ago.
Atlanta Hawks @ Milwaukee Bucks (February 14, 09:00 GMT+8)
With Milwaukee missing the services of Malcolm Brogdon, John Henson and Jabari Parker, Atlanta have a good shot at upsetting the East playoff hopeful. Beating the Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond-led Pistons should also give the Hawks more confidence in this matchup. Go for Atlanta +7.50 @ 1.92.
Sacramento Kings @ Dallas Mavericks (February 14, 09:30 GMT+8)
There isn’t much to expect from this battle at the bottom as both the Kings and Mavs are playing for the lottery. Dallas, however, appear to be in a better position to win considering how hard they are playing, which Houston great Hakeem Olajuwon said doesn’t reflect in their record.
San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets (February 14, 11:30 GMT+8)
San Antonio have now lost two in a row and won’t fancy their chances as they play the second of back-to-back road games. The Nuggets will certainly look to exploit the Spurs’ slump and exhaustion to take their revenge and climb further up the West ladder.
