A fixture steeped in history is our fantastic curtain raiser to Serie A Saturday when Inter take on Milan.
After 55 football games, you can’t split the Milan giants, both having won 20 and drawn 15. And betting odds for this one don’t really give us much of a clue.
WEEK 32 SATURDAY:
Inter Milan vs AC Milan
You can get odds of 2.09 for an Inter win, 3.35 Milan and 3.40 the draw with Asian Handicap Betting at SBOBET. But Inter, in seventh and two points behind their rivals, have lost the last two. Goal scorers Mauro Icardi with 20 for Inter and Carlos Bacca with 13 for Milan will shoot it out at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium as both want to take a big step towards a Europa place…and damage the hopes of the other.
Pescara vs Juventus
Bottom plays top on the East Coast and it’s probably a question of how many Juventus will win by. Pescara have struggled as a newcomer to Serie A and are close to a return to the second tier. The Bianconeri, fresh from dismantling the great Barcelona in the Champions League, will be relentless.
AS Roma vs Atalanta
Six points behind the leaders in second place, Roma face a serious test to continue a six-match winning run against fifth-placed Atalanta. The visitors have the Milan clubs breathing down their necks but will have their work cut out to stop record-breaking 24-goal Edin Dzeko. Roma are at 1.85 to win with a -1.00 handicap.
Genoa vs Lazio
Lazio are fourth and seven points behind Napoli, but only three ahead of Milan in sixth so Simone Inzaghi will be keen to put defeats to Napoli and Roma behind him. Genoa’s a good place to get back to winning ways as the home side is on a run of four consecutive defeats without scoring.
Fiorentina vs Empoli
Bayern Munich has expressed an interest in the Viola’s ten-goal star Federico Bernardeschi; but in the meantime, the dynamo will aim to help his side, which hasn’t given up on Europa qualification. Empoli can give up on Serie A if they don’t stop an alarming run which sees them just three points above the drop. Home win, I think.
Torino vs Crotone
Empoli’s determined effort to nosedive out of Serie A could benefit Crotone, seemingly doomed until back-to-back wins have brought them to within just one more win of 17th. Tenth-placed Torino want to sign keeper Joe Hart for another year, but if he can’t keep Crotone out they may change their minds!
Cagliari vs Chievo
Thirteenth plays 12th at Cagliari, and the hosts have a chance to change a sequence of four consecutive defeats to Chievo as the visitors have hit the skids with three defeats on the bounce. Cagliari’s Marco Borriello is one to watch with 14 goals to his name.
Palermo vs Bologna
Palermo are in desperate trouble in 19th, having lost the last five. And while Bologna lost their last two, they did face in-form sides Roma and Fiorentina; they also won the two games prior to those. So an away win at 2.78 seems reasonable.
WEEK 32 SUNDAY:
Sassuolo vs Sampdoria
Sampdoria are up to ninth after three wins and ten points from the last five games. They will be strongly fancied to continue the run against a Sassuolo team safe in 15th and without a win in six, not to mention six consecutive home defeats. Their fans must love them!
Napoli vs Udinese
Third-placed Napoli are a further four points behind and ten off the top, but nicely ensconced in a Champions League place. Udinese are in good shape in 11th though, with ten points from the last four and Cyril Thereau in good form on 11 goals.
